What is Working & Holiday Program ?

Today, NAICE would like to share knowledge of a Working & Holiday Visa program, which is a program that grants a visa that can be used for travelling, working and studying for up to in Australia.

Working & Holiday Visa Program is a Thai-Australian exchange program that gives Thai youth fully aged 18-30 years old an opportunity to travel, work and experience life in Australia for a period of 1 year. This program is open for applications every year. The number of application quotas varies from year to year.

Working & Holiday Visa Fee 510 AUD

Working & Holiday Visa holders can:

🧡 Live in Australia for a maximum of 12 months.

🧡 Work with the same employer for no more than six months.

🧡 Register for classes no more than four months.

🧡 Travel in and out of Australia as many times as you like.

🧡 Resubmit this visa application for the second time if the applicant has worked in Australia for the last three months in the tourism, agriculture, forestry or fishing industries in the northern region of Australia.

Applicants Eligibility:

🧡 Have Thai Nationality

🧡 Fully aged 18 years old and not more than 31 years old at the date of applying for a visa

🧡Have educational qualifications as specified

🧡Have a living allowance while living in Australia in the amount of 5,000 AUD ( 120,000 baht)

🧡 Have evidence of English proficiency test

🧡 Must travel without an accompanying person

🧡 Have a certificate of qualification which is issued by the Department of Children and Youth.

🧡 Qualified for the specified health standards test and no criminal record

Required Documents For Application

Required documents for visa application must be translated into English version.

🧡 Passport and a copy of the passport that clearly shows the applicant’s details. A passport must be valid for more than six months

🧡 Current photo 1 photo

🧡 Copy of the Identification Card and a copy of the House Registration

🧡 Transcript

🧡 Employment Certificate (In case of working)

🧡 Evidence of financial statements (Bank Statement) for the last six months

🧡 Certificate of qualification from the Department of Children and Youth

Application Processes

1. Register to Get Username and Password Applicants must register to get a username and password in order to be able to apply through the online channel. The applicants can register with a username and a password at the Department of Children and Youth Affairs website www.dcy.go.th; applicants should prepare the following documents before registration.

The documents are as follows:

🧡 Current photo that is not more than three months.

🧡 Identification Number

🧡 Name – Surname (Thai-English spelling and name according to passport)

🧡 Email

2. Online Register Test The registration system is open to test the registration system before the actual date. If the quotas of applications are full, the registration system will close automatically.

3. Actual Date of Online Registration Applicants can register for a username and password for the Working & Holiday Visa application by the specified date. If the quotas of applications are full, the registration system will close automatically.

4. Submission of Visa Application

🧡 Application form (print from online application)

🧡 Memorandum (Download the file from the application system) with the signature of the applicant, parents and witnesses.

🧡 Documents and evidence requesting a certificate of qualifications from the Ministry of Public Health.

English Skills Requirements

Applicants will submit an English proficiency score on the date of submitting the application by showing one of these English proficiency scores.

🧡 IELTS score of 4.5 or higher in all skills, and the score must be valid within 12 months from the date of visa application.

🧡 OET score, the score must be valid within 12 months from the date of visa application

🧡 TOEFL iBT score of 32 in all skills, and the score must be valid within 12 months from the date of visa application.

🧡 PTE Academic test scores with a minimum score of 30 in all skills, and the score must be valid within 12 months from the date of visa application.

🧡 CAE test scores, minimum score of 30 in all skills and the score must be valid within 12 months from the date of visa application.

Educational Qualification Requirements

🧡 Studied a primary school 1-6 and secondary school for at least three years in an educational institution using English as the main language of study

🧡 Studied five years of secondary school in an educational institution using English as the main language of study

🧡 Be a tertiary graduate with a duration of 2 years in an educational institution using English as the main language of study

🧡 Completed a 1-year course of study in Australia with a degree or certificate. This is another interesting piece of information about an Australian visa because the holder of a Work & Holiday Visa can travel, work, and study in Australia for a period of 1 year.
